How to Store Soft, Tender Herbs

1. Trim the ends of the stems with a sharp knife or herb scissors
2. Fill a jar with cool water
3. Place the herbs in the jar like a bouquet of flowers
4. Cover the jar with a plastic bag
5. Secure with a rubber band at the base of a jar to enclose the bag around the jar
Basil and mint do best at room temperature, so store these herbs on a sunny windowsill. For all other herbs listed above, the refrigerator is best.
How to Store Hard, Woody Herbs
(Rosemary, Thyme, Chives, Sage, Oregano)

1. Wrap your herbs in a damp paper towel or dish towel
2. Put the wrapped herbs in a Ziploc bag
3. Place the herbs in the refrigerator
